Micro- and nano- opto-mechanically based systems (MOEMS and NOEMS) are useful due to their potential sensitivity, speed, energy efficiency, density, and in potentially low cost integration in systems. There are several emerging applications of MOEMS/NOEMS in industry standards and advanced R&D settings.
